Walks are good...maybe not 2 mile with kids that don't usually go on walks! But they all did really good!
Danny and Tanner were the only ones brave (dumb?) enough to go back up the tower with me lol...

First Fish
June 4th 2012
You should never get to the ages of 13 and 12 before you catch your first fish! NaNa had to remedy this terrible situation!
First Brian caught one, well he actually caught three that evening I think!
Then Aunt Connie caught one!
Then Aunt Connie tried to catch Monsuer Turtle! You really had to be there to understand what all went on between her and that turtle! I chuckle still lol..
Then Brian sat....
Finally Jenny caught one! Brian had already caught one or two lol..
Then NaNa caught a monster! IT had to be weighed!
Then we sat some more!
Um, where it that bobber going?
We finally had to reel them in and head home! Fun was had by all! And fish were caught...but we didn't have to clean any!

Alex's Letter Day
Kindergarten always has a letter day parade. When Connie was in school she was "U".
Alex choose "T". Because he had a white tshirt and that is the only letter that wore a white shirt of course!
So the night before Aunt Connie and I found out WE had to make the shirt! Panic time! We looked all over town, with only $5 to our name we tried to find a shirt! NO way! Mommy finally found one in the back of his closet! Connie had found a train outline online and printed it. So While I made the T, she tranferred it to the material and cut it out. NaNa slopped it on the tshirt (I hate quick jobs!).
Lucky for us he is young enough to like it!

Alex Swim Lessons
As much as Alex loves water I felt this year was time to start the formal lessons!
Lots of air from the side!
The Head Dunk proper form!
The Aided Backfloat....foot support is important!
Out in the water you need more fluid support!
Yes, he can now float on stomach and back by himself. And also swim a little!
Second day of lessons and he goes off the diving board!
Proper form includes the Nose grab!
I have no idea why picture is turned! I have tried every way to fix it. Sorry.
And no you do not jump to the lifeguard if you don't know how to swim! You jump as far away from her as you can!
The last time he went off the board she didn't think he would go down as far as he did and she had to go get him! Nothing scares him though..He loves the big slide, I will try to get a picture of him on it sometime this year!

Harvest has started!
Keep forgetting to post! Sorry, Connie!
I got a few cherry tomatoes this week. Nope, no picture! I ated them too quick!
Last night I watered because it is supposed to get to 101° today!
I got up early to tend to the garden before it got hot. My garden gets early morning shade.
Beans, first picking! Got about 3 cups after I snapped them. I will blanch them and freeze till I have enough to can. Unless I use them before!
Broccoli is a disappointment this year. I think it was too hot to make heads. The largest is about 3 inches. This batch was off 3 plants and I don't think the other 4 are gonna head at all! I will pull them next week if it looks bad.
Ben found this beetle running around the grass in front of his shed! About 1" or more and fast! No idea what kind it is.
