Misc Loki

Loki isn't to sure about the outside! This is the ferret harness, a little insecurely fastened for a kitty.
She got a new one of her own now. I will have to get a pic of it.

Loki loves to give Mommy kitty kisses...

Supervising my sewing and making sure Danny stays seated.

A towel in the sink. Her favorite spot. Loki is going through Litterbox 101. So her main room is the bathroom if now one is keeping an eye on her. So far, litterbox 1.5-Loki .5 ....she pees in the litter and MOST the time in the box. But at least she does it in the bathtub! Not on the living room carpet.

                                               Watching "Beverly Hills Chihuahua III"

As with any kitten, she is fascinated by the computer curser!

She went to sitting right in the middle of Daddy's desk lol..

Slippers!

We all need new slippers..so out came the pattern I found an liked the looks of. I like to have my ankle covered. The pattern is NOT the best but is awesomely easy and good for now! So sew I will do!

My first try..A little snug if I am wearing socks but awesome to slip on! I did NOT wash the material though lol. So I will make another pair slightly larger, with washed material, and put rubber backing on them for non slipping. then I will wash these and put backing on them. IF they don't shrink to much!

And yes, they have Abby's mukluk approval!

The boys are asking where theirs are lol. So washing material this evening and sewing tomorrow..well I hope.

Fleece inner layer with flannel outer layer. I have noticed I will need to put SOMETHING on the bottoms for sure. Flannel doesn't wear well on the bottom. Wonder how it would work with jean denim, might try that with the boys.

Serger

I have always wanted one! I believe I will use it a lot. Once I learn how to use it lol...I will save a lot of time finishing the seams at least.
It is a Singer Finishing Touch. Quite a difference from a sewing machine! Whole new learning curve!

Halloween is finally over

No I did NOT get a single doll dress done that I had planned! Life sure gets busy! In October, two weeks of camping, week of being sick, other sewing needed done. Dolls definitely low on list lol..

Boys LOVED trick or treating! Connie has a new job so she wasn't able to go with us this year. She was really upset. But Heather and I had a good time with them despite rain. It wasn't but a little chilly so we really were not happy about the rain but the Goddess knows what is best for nature.

My Aunt Laura had made them up their own bags! Thanks for making their night awesomely special!

                                                                    Danny's bag,

                                                                        Alex's bag,

This was JUST from my aunt!

Because it was raining and because my aunt is so awesomely awesome the boys did not even fuss once at only going out for an hour!

Lesson Learned

Oh my, lol, did I goof last week!

When I made Alex's sleep pants Heather called and said they were huge. Then she said she washed the material and the fit perfect.

So I proceeded to make him a pair of pants from some blue twill I bought the week before. I made patch pockets to put on the outside of the lower leg. I made an elastic waist. I messed up and cut the pants too short so I made them different, added some material to the bottom like some of his store bought pants.

He tried them on. THEY WERE HUGE!!!!

ROFLMAO!! I forgot we washed the material first this time! So the pants are in the box for NEXT year!

I bought enough to make about 4 pair for him and a couple for Danny so no shortage of material. Next time I will take each section in 1/2" and shorten the waist 2" and hem them up another 1". I still want to make the legs like I did those by accident! And I think I will make the pocket bigger. I used the measurements from one of Danny's pairs so they really could be bigger for Alex.

Live and learn. Ok..sew and make mistakes! Will happen all my life...at least this one wasn't a failure! Just a start on NEXT winter's clothes lol....

I really liked how they turned out though!!

Ramblings

I haven't really written much this month I know.

Been an up and down month!

Went on vacation (ok, camping right outside of town) but still have the boys routine to follow. Started Camping on the 1st. Then on the 6th we got notice that we had to get rid of the bee hives! I filed an appeal for a hearing on the 16th but not heard yet when. I have to get rid of the bees by the 27th so the better hurry up! If I don't hear from them by the time the mail goes on Friday I will be at city hall demanding an extension.

Heather is looking into getting a mortgage for an acreage now. She is really ticked. So we may be moving in the spring. We are all just tired of all the ordinances. We can get mauled by a pitbull now but we need protection from the little bees. We'll see what happens.

Pajama Pants

Was on vacation. I WAS going to sew doll Halloween dresses.
But I decided the boys needed their pajama pants worse.

Heather had bought two pairs of each, Mario and Angry Birds, sleep pants in men’s size small. She got them on clearance for $3 each. I thought I could make a pair for the boys one out of each. Nope, didn’t work that way. The men’s had the plackets in front for laziness, so after cutting them out the pattern didn’t fit those sections.

So Danny got Mario, Alex got Angry Birds, and NaNa got tired of sewing for the day lol…

Actually I only sewed for about 3 hrs a day while Danny was in school. I made the patterns from sleep pants that still fit the boys. So one pattern made for each boy. Grrr… I hate making patterns lol. But I can use the patterns to make them more now. It had been a long time since I had made a pattern off bought clothes. I had bought a new mat to try this time. I loved how I could pin everything to the cardboard! It really made it faster and easier.

It usually took about two days for each pattern and two days for each pair of pants. Cause I had other things to do in those three hours also lol…

For $6 they each have a new pair of jamma pants they love!
